St. Alphonsus Fish Fry
The annual St. Alphonsus Fish Fry is one of the parish’s biggest events of the year.
It is not only a fundraiser for the church and local community’s charities, but a way to bring our neighborhood together for some good food and cheer.
Date: Friday, March 8th
Where: 1429 W. Wellington, Chicago in Festival Hall, beneath the church
Time: 6:30-9PM
Featuring the Trinity Irish Dance Troupe around 7 PM.
Cost: $20 for adults. $10 for kids 5-12. Free for 4 and under.

You’re cordially invited to Capital One Café in Southport (3435 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60657) for Café Mindfulness, a free, six-part wellness and yoga series designed to help members of the local community with identifying goals and preparing for success, getting clear and developing a plan for achieving goals, navigating change and handling roadblocks along the way.
Every third Wednesday of the month from January 17th through June 19th, sessions will be held from 12pm-1pm Local Time. January and February sessions will focus on goal-setting and preparing for success.
We welcome you to stop by the Café for a session or the series and to share this special invitation with others across your organization.
At this time, registration for the series is not required, but space is limited. We strongly encourage participants to arrive 15 minutes before the start of each session for check-in and to receive a free coffee that can be redeemed at any time.

Working Artists Open Their Doors at Cornelia Arts Building March Open Studios
Visit two full-floors of working art studios at one of the largest artist studio buildings on Chicago’s North side. On Friday March 22nd, from 6 - 10 pm, and on Saturday March 23rd, from 11 am - 3 pm, the Cornelia Arts Building at 1800 West Cornelia Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, opens its doors for visitors to meet talented artists and artisans in person, explore their art practices up close, and purchase art and crafts directly from their makers.
Currently over 95 local artists and artisans work here, including painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelers, designers, and much more. The juried front lobby guest artist is Mary Foster, showcasing her beautiful paintings and hand-painted woodcut prints. With one-of-a-kind artwork and special artisan-made gifts by the building artists, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy.
Building on four decades of fostering creativity, the venue nears completion on a multi-year remodeling effort, with more than double the studios and artists, and more art than ever before. Established in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is located at 1800 West Cornelia, at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Roscoe Village, Lakeview, and North Center. Located close to public transportation and only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building has a free parking lot and street parking nearby. Events are free and open to the public.

19th Police District Council - Monthly Meeting

Located in front of St. Alphonsus Church (1429 W Wellington Ave)
Organized by SSA 27, enjoy a live ice sculpture performance in Lakeview to liven up your winter. Watch the artist make winter magic happen as they sculpt a block of ice into a beautiful creation of the audience’s choosing! That’s right — bring your ideas, as the ice sculptor will ask the audience for suggestions of what to create.
SSA 27 will provide food trucks on both days of the event, offering complimentary beverages and pastries to help keep attendees warm. This is a great event for the whole family or the perfect stop on a romantic winter date!

About: 2401-2409 W. BELMONT decision
The owner of the lot on the southwest corner of Belmont and Western is seeking a Special Use Permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) to build a drive-through for a fast-food restaurant. While the final decision will be made by the ZBA, Alderman Martin’s office is hosting this meeting to make sure that neighbors learn about the proposal and how to submit their own feedback to the ZBA. On Monday, December 18th, neighbors are invited to learn about the proposal and ask questions of the applicant’s team. The meeting will be held on Zoom from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be a presentation from the team followed by a Q&A.
